1.Too much cardio Some people, in their efforts to try to lose weight, focus too much on doing hours and hours of cardio.
The
problem is that this can be counterproductive as it eventually makes
you lose muscle, which decreases your resting metabolic rate. Once this happens, it's easier than ever to increase body fat. I've
even seen people who do too much cardio and end with the appearance of
"skinny fat", with very little muscle tone, and yet, with excess

Instead of doing too much cardio, focus more on weight training High intensity (yes, even during a cycle of "thinning"). This will help keep your lean muscle mass throughout your body, so it will not decrease your metabolic rate. Keep as much muscle as possible in your body at all times is one of the most important things to be super-slim for life.
2. Not eating enough healthy fats
This is another area where I see people going in the wrong direction. They are trying to lose body fat and end up getting too fat intake. When you decrease your fat intake too much, basically confuse your hormones to burn fat and building muscle. It is not uncommon to see people reduce their fat intake too and so end up significantly reducing their testosterone levels.
Try to include some sources of healthy fats at each meal to ensure they do not go down too ... could be avocados, any and all nuts (almonds, walnuts, peanuts, etc..), Seeds (pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds) , nut butters (almond butter, natural peanut butter, etc..), virgin coconut oil (good source of medium chain triglycerides), extra virgin olive oil, grass-fed meat (good source of conjugated linoleic acid and omega-3), whole eggs (yes, whole eggs ... not egg whites, etc.).
